fat-to-fast:

Running has taught me that hard work pays off. You stay consistent, you’ll reap the rewards.

Running has taught me how to roll with the punches. You fall down, brush yourself off, and keep going.

Running has taught me that I can do anything. One step at a time, one foot in front of the…

After a crappy day of teaching, I was ready to run… until hubs called to say he was on his way home. It was 4, and I was still doing some cleaning. I just wanted to go home and run, but not really, but I was going to tell myself this so I would actually run.  (I have a “rest day” tomorrow (really, I’m running with a friend) and I like to play the swapsies game ALL THE TIME to talk myself out of running.)

40 min tempo run

Just 40 minutes right? My goal was 5 miles, since, you know, tempo is fast.  Around mile 2, I got lady cramps. SUCK! I stopped (and stopped my timer. stopping is not tempo) dealt with the pain and thought about just taking a shortcut home. BUT I DIDN’T FTW!

Finished 5.2 miles in 40 minutes. 7:41 pace.

Did the whole dinner thing and watched some meme videos. Finally made mine. Then I said I was going to strength exercises, and I did.

3x

  • 15 lunges each leg
  • 15 dips
  • 15 hypers
  • 45 seconds of swimmers (sucked!)

Now I have to secretly make a tres leches cake… maybe I’ll wait until the wee hours of tomorrow morning when I’ll also be doing my lesson planning. We’ll see.

I’m totally not a food logger. As you can probably tell, since I haven’t logged what I’ve eaten for the past two days.

But whatever I’m eating is working. Maybe I’m shocking my body into weight loss?

As many of you know, I haven’t been eating gluten since Sunday. Here’s my WIW info:

6/8/11 - 140.0

6/15/11 - 137.6

Loss:  2.4 lbs

Total Loss: 12.4 lbs

I don’t know what to make of this! I want to credit no gluten, but I kind of want to credit just saying “No.” to cookies and cakes and sweets and treats. I guess I’ll find out as I continue my gluten-free experiment.

Well, we usually start later in August and we have a nice long Spring Break around Easter.
Plus we had a lot of snow days! Almost done though.

Woke up about a half hour before my alarm. Thought about running, but remembered that I’m running with friends after work. Helped myself to some rice chex with strawberries and banana.

Treated myself to a nonfat latte from Starbucks.

4 more days of teaching!!  Come on summer vacation!

I think the biggest thing about this diet is that I have an “excuse” not to eat cookies and cakes and all kinds of dessert. I mean, before I could have just said, “I don’t eat that stuff,” but now I feel like I have a reason.

Also, if you are a gluten-free professional and any of the stuff that I’m eating has gluten, please let me know!  I want to be authentic and not cut any corners.
