6.79 miles in 1:00:08.

Took a little longer than I expected. I felt a little off.

Also glad that I found a bathroom around mile 4, or else it would have been bad news. Speaking of using the bathroom - I came home and weighed myself. Have already lost a pound since this morning. (Water retention and constipation anyone?)

Avoided all rain and lightning! (I didn’t see any lightning, but there was thunder.)

Now, I enjoy my very first nuun.

I’m running home from school. ~6 miles. =)

And I have to leave right now or I’ll get stuck in the rain.  (I’ll probably get stuck in the rain anyway.)

Oh well. YOLO

Not my fastest, but this pace felt fun and easy.

Run with Pacers tonight.

It felt so good to run with this group again. There’s a set of faster men that push me to be better than my best.

Tonight, I led the pack (of men!) until the last mile or so.

I finished 5.3 miles in 39:40.  That’s less than a 7:30 pace.  AND it was humid. ~80 degrees and 80% humidity. I impressed myself tonight. I impressed the other runners tonight. I GOT FIST BUMPS GUYS!

I. feel. awesome.

12 are done and I’m a sweaty mess.
Note to self - start at 6 am next time.

1:44:56, 8:43/mile
My pacing was all over the place though. Wooo wee

Did I set April Goals?  I think I was in Mexico and was more concerned about enjoying myself.

Anyway, here goes Muscles May!

1. Run 100 miles

My next race is a half marathon on June 2. I’m pretty sure that following my training plan will easily help me achieve this goal.

2. Practice swimming at the gym twice once my lessons are over.

This is more of a courage goal - that I’ll have to go on my own and practice.

3. Weigh in at 130 and maintain it!

I can’t wait to weigh in for you guys tomorrow! It’s going to be good.

4. Log at least 20 strength workouts

I started doing this in April and I’d like to continue through all of May.

Ran 5 miles tonight in 38:47! 7:44/mile average.

Splits:

Course and other stats:

Other things:

  • Feeling a lot less funky. Was able to tell people IRL about my weird mood, had a good cry, and slept a decent amount. Still not feeling 100% my normal optimistic self. Maybe I just need summer?
  • Shoulder hurts!! I visited Dr. Google and decided I have a shoulder sprain or a “separated shoulder” due to both of the falls I took. I think the second one was worse since I landed on my hand and had a locked elbow. It feels like normal muscle pain after a good workout - but I didn’t have a shoulder workout. I’ll have to see what I can do at swim tomorrow. Maybe I’ll work solely on breathing at the side of the pool.
  • I love beets. It’s true - it didn’t take much for this love affair to get started. I am looking forward to secondary effects of beets tomorrow.=)

fat-to-fast:

Running has taught me that hard work pays off. You stay consistent, you’ll reap the rewards.

Running has taught me how to roll with the punches. You fall down, brush yourself off, and keep going.

Running has taught me that I can do anything. One step at a time, one foot in front of the…

It’ll be such a relief from teaching.
